Liverpool FC Resurgence: A Success Packaged from the Boardroom!

Anfield was lit last Thursday night, despite the lockdown measures, just after it was confirmed that Liverpool were the champions of England. With seven games to spare, the new champions had broken a record in winding up so early in the season.

Liverpool’s last title win was when Kenny Dalglish, as manager, led a grief-stricken club to the summit in 1989/90 season. This was the 11th time they had won the championship in a period of 20 years. And that particular year it was a touch of comfort with the Hillsborough disaster taking place earlier in the season. However, from that time they went on a pause unbelievably for 30 solid years!

During this drought, the exploits of the club were still a global phenomenon.  They had some famous stories like the “Liverpool Istanbul champions league night” of 2005 and the sweet victory in Madrid in 2019. For a team that had success in Europe, the premier league was shockingly elusive. As the league became bigger and more famous due to a wider TV audience, their faithful and adoring fans were becoming increasingly impatient.

For three decades, Liverpool chased the premier league without success. How the mighty had fallen! They needed to step up a gear and this they did in the recent years as they charged closer and closer. It was just a matter of time before a breakthrough would arrive. The 2018/19 season could have been the year to re-establish themselves at the top only to miss out by a point to Manchester City. The fact that they went through the season with only a single loss confirmed they were back where they belonged. And coming back they did this season only to be delayed by coronavirus. But when the league restarted and their fierce rivals Manchester City lost at Chelsea, Liverpool were English champions again!

The transformation that has made Liverpool compete at the very top is mainly attributed to the peerless German Coach Jurgen Klopp. In Klopp, Liverpool found a manager of vision and real character and who completely transformed the club and made it an irresistible force. Their work rate is second to none and their winning mentality is unmatched. One just need to be reminded of that night when they humbled Messi and co four nil at Anfield to overcome a three nil deficit suffered in the first leg at the Barnabeu. They would match on to lift the champions league trophy. This was at a back of a superb performance of 2018 where they only lost the trophy to Real Madrid in the finals of the campaign.

Liverpool’s premier league wins have been ridiculously high in the reign of Klopp. They have only lost twice in the past two seasons! In the likes of Henderson, Mane, Salah, Firmino, Van Dyke and others, they have undoubtedly world class players. The team is a group of winners and results on match days speak volumes.

In the midst of the euphoria, however, it is possible to overlook those who work behind the scenes to make success a possibility. Liverpool was almost on the brink of administration a decade ago. But now the fortunes have turned and it has a lot to do with the top hierarchy. Liverpool became a global brand when they won the title 11 times between 1970 and 1990. This success was to a great extent associated to John Smith who had been a chairman from 1973 and only stepped down in 1990. During his tenure, Liverpool enjoyed its greatest spell of success. He was a firm believer of stability and continuity and was behind the highly managerial appointments of Bob Paisley, Joe Fagan and Kenny Dalglish. In his resume, he added a remarkable business acumen that helped to provide the much-needed resource base for the club.

When he finally left, Liverpool forgot how to win the league. However, the brand he left ensured that there was enough fanbase to push for improvements whenever things were not going on well. Liverpool never walked alone even during its tumultuous times that surfaced when it was sold to American businessmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks on 6 February 2007. Disagreements between Gillett and Hicks, and the fans’ lack of support for them, forced the pair to seek to sell the club.

With the club facing a possible administration it was sold to Fenway Sports Group (formerly New England Sports Ventures), on 15 October 2010 for £300m (FSG is jointly owned by John W. Henry and Tom Werner). The major shareholders quickly took a back seat and put suitable men to run the club. The Liverpool FC board that was put in place ensured that they made right key decisions and invested the necessary money to help the club progress in all areas.

Much of the current success for Liverpool emanated from Mike Gordon, Fenway Sports Group president. According to the Guardian, he is the man behind the decisions for hiring Klopp, the signing of Virgil van Dijk, the sale of Philippe Coutinho and investment in infrastructure. Gordon has been astute in his major calls and his biggest decisions have shaped Liverpool’s present and long-term future. Gordon made his own mistakes at the beginning but was quick to learn from them. He is said to have dismissed Brendan Rodgers based on a strategic consideration to pave way for the direction he was comfortable with regardless of the results at the time. His preference for a sporting model over a promising manager and preserving the club’s vast commercial appeal while keeping the fans onside was key to the Club’s success. He welcomed the charismatic Klopp, a two-times Bundesliga-winner to Anfield and then promoted the analytical Michael Edwards, to Sporting Director in 2016. Klopp has had no qualms working with his technical director and that harmony has been central to Liverpool’s revival.

Liverpool premier league resurgence shows the crucial role governance and management issues play to attain success in a football club let alone in any organization. The new owners put together a board that understood not only the ethos of the club but also the key areas that needed focus. Their stakeholder analysis was spot on. They needed the fans on their side and with tabs on what mattered most, financial success was only a matter of time. Now, with Klopp in charge, they have one of the strongest and youngest squads in Europe and a stable financial outlook. Liverpool recently rose two places in the Deloitte Football Money League to rank seventh. There are also reports suggesting that the club is now making profits in millions. It is evident that FSG have scored on their promise of making the club self-sustaining.

Finally, and importantly, the supporters that stuck with the club demonstrates to us that building brand loyalty is very key for sustained competitiveness. Secondly, the fans sticking with the club shows that persistence pays. As long as you keep pushing, and don’t give up, one day your dreams will come true. The Liverpool fans can now sing their anthem, you never walk alone loudly. And without doubt many others will join in that chorus!

Nick Vujicic – The man without limbs but with no limits

It was supposed to be a normal birth. There was nothing to unsettle the doctors or to worry the parents. But the unexpected happened, the boy was born with no legs and no arms! The parents, Dusanka and Borislav Vujicic, Serbian immigrants from Yugoslavia, were shocked at his birth. The father hoped and prayed that his son should not live long in that condition. The mother couldn’t hold the baby for four months. It was that devastating!

This is how the story of Nick Vujicic, born on 4th December 1982, in Melbourne, Australia makes sad reading at the beginning. However, how the odds were overcome is what makes the story an extraordinary piece of inspiration!

His Childhood and His Unanswered Questions

“I encourage you to accept that you may not be able to see a path right now, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there.”

― Nick Vujicic, Life Without Limits

Shortly after the Victorian State law was changed to allow kids with disabilities in the mainstream schools, Nick’s parents did not hesitate to give him an opportunity of integration. While this would take him through a daunting experience, on one hand, it proved

to be a springboard of his “life without limits” on the other.

At school, among his peers, he faced ridicule and bullying. As he faced this problem, he became grumpy and distraught. His parents, however, were very supportive. For instance, there was a time that the mother showed him a newspaper article about a man dealing with a serious disability from another part of the world. It inspired him so much that he accepted the reality of his condition. It was this acceptance and also his faith in God that helped Nick to go on to become an inspirational figure as we know him today.

His achievements and life without limits

“If I fail, I try again, and again, and again. If YOU fail, are you going to try again? The human spirit can handle much worse than we realize. It matters HOW you are going to FINISH. Are you going to finish strong?”

― Nick Vujicic

Parental love was crucial for the preservation of his life at the time when it didn’t make sense. His late father, Boris, gives this insight and inspiration of how the family navigated those challenges with love, grace, and courage in his book “Raising the Perfectly Imperfect Child.”

When Nick tried to end his life in the bathroom when he was 10, it was the remembrance of the love of his parents which constrained him. In fact, with the support of his parents, Nick learned to write with his toes, and would even throw tennis balls, hold a glass of water, comb his hair and brush his teeth. He also mastered playing drums, swimming, playing golf, and answering telephone calls. Nick even boasted of such things as being a daredevil skydiver and simply doing things that some people without limbs might even cringe to do. He even mustered typing up to 45 words per minute on a computer using his toe.

Though he faced a great deal of bullying, Nick still thrived in his teenage and young adult years. He graduated from Griffith University at the age of 21 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with a double major in accountancy and financial planning. In 2005, Nick founded “Life Without Limbs,” an international non-profit organization and ministry. In 2007, he founded Attitude is Altitude, a secular motivational speaking company.

Vujicic’s first book, Life Without Limits: Inspiration for a Ridiculously Good Life, was published by Random House in 2010 with great acclaim and went on to be translated into over 30 languages. He is further renowned for the following books (you can buy them here):

  1. Your Life Without Limits(2012)
  2. Limitless: Devotions for a Ridiculously Good Life (2013)
  3. Unstoppable: The Incredible Power of Faith in Action (2013)
  4. The Power of Unstoppable Faith (2014)
  5. Stand Strong (2015)
  6. Love Without Limits (2016)
  7. Be the Hands and Feet: Living Out God’s Love for All His Children (2018).

He also starred as ‘Will’ in a short film, “the Butterfly Circus” where he was awarded Best Actor for his starring performance. In August 2011, Attitude is Altitude released a single music video by Vujicic called “Something More”.

Nick married Kanae Miyahara in 2012 and has four children. This was in itself something that not even his parents thought was possible when he was still a toddler. But he found his love and cherished his romance so much that he even wrote a book ‘Love without Limits.’ He now lives in California, USA, and doubles as an Evangelist and as a Motivational speaker.

Facing and Overcoming the Monster of Bullying

“The challenges in our lives are there to STRENGTHEN our CONVICTIONS. They are NOT there to run us over.”

― Nick Vujicic

At the age of 17, Nick started his non-profit charity, Life Without Limbs.

This was the beginning of his anti-bullying campaign which has been one so close to his heart. As one who struggled with this himself as a child, the physical and emotional pain has given way to a voice for those who suffer this unpleasant experience in different ways. In his book, Stand Strong: You Can Overcome Bullying (and other stuff that keeps you down), Nick confronts the monster of bullying and gives an insight into the different areas where people find themselves bullied and how to handle the challenges.

His Fulfilment and Purpose

“It’s a lie to think you’re not good enough. It’s a lie to think you’re not worth anything.”

― Nick Vujicic

Nick’s life has had an impact on many people in the world today. He has traveled to more than 60 countries giving hope to people.  Nick is an established evangelist and he does not shy away to talk about his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. In a world of correctness and liberal tendencies, Nick has done what perhaps may never be allowed ordinarily, talking about his faith in a plane and about anywhere else where he has had an opportunity to speak. The faith that he sealed at the age of 15 keeps him going, radiating joy and being grateful and purposeful.

Lesson from Nick Vujicic’s Story

“… for every disability you have, you are blessed with more than enough abilities to overcome your challenges.”

― Nick Vujicic

We can never give excuses for why we can’t make it in life. If we can look long enough, we shall find that we are endowed with enough gifts to make it. Nick stopped focusing on what he didn’t have and concentrated on what he had. He made a choice not to continue brooding on what seemed to be a curse or misfortune and looked on the positive side. Instead of his disability being forever a burden to himself or the family, it becomes a blessing to them and even beyond them. If a man without limbs could make it, anyone can. If Nick has no limbs but no worries, why should you?

It is important also that we raise awareness of the evils of bullying. Parents should teach their children never to mock other children who look different from them. Cyberbullying must also be fought against with all seriousness. In families, we should take care of all the members with disabilities, listen to their fears and concern, and encourage them to overcome their challenges. Many more should live a life without limit, why not?

Pi Cup Overview

The Longrich Alkaline Pi Cup is an amazing filtration technology that converts regular drinking water into ionized, alkaline water, helping sustain the body’s natural pH levels. It makes the water slightly alkaline and thereby enhancing the transportation of oxygen in the bloodstream throughout the body.

Pi Cup Benefits

1. It controls the water pH value in the range of weak alkaline which is beneficial to clearing acidic wastes which would otherwise present favourable conditions for sicknesses like cancer.

2. Improves microcirculation and metabolism as it activates water into small molecular cluster water.

3. As an Anti-oxidant it delivers more active hydrogen for the body and eliminates free radicals, thus helping with enhanced immunity and possibly delaying the aging process.

4. It helps supplement minerals and trace elements to be at the appropriate proportion for the body for suitable absorption. In this case it even increases the rate of zinc extraction from the water and thus improving immunity.

5. Its richness in the negative ions which ordinary water doesn’t carry helps carry more oxygen in the body. It also helps to activate cells in the human body.

6. It can effectively degrade the residue of chlorine. Chlorine is a strong oxidant and it’s associated toxicity is not good for the body.

7. It also enhances water quality and tastes

Pi Cup Activation

At first use, rinse and shake the cup repeatedly with 60C (140F) hot water. In order to activate the filter, you repeat the above action over and over until the water being poured becomes clear.

Then before drinking from the cup, pour in pure or boiled water (below 50C (122F) and wait for 1 to 3 minutes while ensuring the water is above the filter.

Pi Cup Manufacturers

The manufacturers are Longrich Bio-Science. They sell their products using the market level marketing model or network marketing as it is popularly called. This has led to many opponents of this marketing model to ask the question is Longrich legit or is longrich business a scam. Without belaboring the point, my answer is that their products are genuine and that’s why they can sell from Amazon.

They are not a scam, they are legit!

Pi Cup Review Rating

The Pi Cup like any other alkaline product might not be endorsed by all as there is a lack of consensus on the benefits. Some might even argue that scientific research is still inconclusive on this. There are also many Pi Cup testimonies littered on the internet which might not necessary be exaggerations but in some cases may need authentication. However, I rate the Pi Cup highly because it has been beneficial to me personally. I have struggled with constipation for most of my adult life. I am now 47 and this struggle has been my story from my twenties until this year when I started using this cup. You can imagine there were times I would not have any bowel movement for 5 days. Now, with the use of this it happens every day.

Kindly leave a comment how the Pi Cup has been beneficial to you.

Tiktok Turns To Education

Tiktok has a new strategic direction, it’s turning to education! With its popularity sky rocketing during the lockdown, the company can now plan for its captive audience. Taking a journey like that of YouTube, which started off from viral videos before adopting a more structured approach, the tech giant is now embarking on a program called “learn on Tiktok.”  As reported, last week on BBC “click”, this strategic decision has already attracted notable partnerships with names like Cambridge and the charity English heritage coming to the fore.

The writing is on the wall. Those that must come to the classroom, must make it exciting and motivating.  The platform would like to explore stories that will not only matter to the young people but that will help them with life skills.  As Tiktok online opens to learning with fun, it’s time that traditionally modelled learning structures woke up and smelt the coffee. Times have changed and there is need for a robust response as Tiktok downloads find themselves streaming into the educational sector.

Indeed, what has happened in recent times has been phenomenal. With greater numbers turning to Tiktok for entertainment and socialization, discerning investors especially in the education sector must seize the immense opportunities available to engage with such a huge audience.  A June report from CNBC stated that Tiktok could even be the place to learn about managing your money. The good news is that most of the Tiktok online viewers are the young people who will be happy that learning and having fun are no longer mutually exclusive, thanks to Tiktok.

The platform is offering an exciting pointer and reminder to how students learn which has been at the canter of discussions for years. Susan Ambrose and four of her colleagues published How Learning Works: 7 Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching in 2010, to much critical acclaim. Ambrose, who is a Senior Vice Provost at Northeastern University, gave an overview of the seven principles which included motivation as one area vital to sustaining learning.

Growth of Tiktok

According to Wikipedia, Tiktok is a Chinese video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance, a Beijing-based internet technology company founded in 2012 by Zhang Yiming. It is used to create short dance, lip-sync, comedy and talent videos. ByteDance first launched Douyin for the China market in September 2016.

As a social media app, it allows users to create, promote, and react to short-form music video content. Tiktok users have been using the app to create videos of themselves dancing, acting and exercising to audio clips and sharing it with their friends. The concept has proved immensely popular. According to official company announcements, Tiktok has over 500 million monthly users, and has been downloaded from the Google Play store over 1 billion times.

While millions of people have lost their jobs, a lucky few are just starting to build what they hope might be lucrative careers in entertainment. The good news is that the door has not yet been closed. If you are an educator you can seize the opportunities inherent in the platform as well.

Seizing the opportunity

As the coronavirus pandemic has been a boon for Tiktok, the users who’ve taken advantage of it became “quarantine famous,” and one kid who created a series of elaborate reality show parody videos, said “all the opportunities that I dreamed of are suddenly like, at my fingertips.”  It is such stories that made the bosses at Tiktok ask themselves, why not extend to education as well?

It’s a widely held view that the use of online learning tools and open-source educational resources have been known to increase productivity and accelerate learning rates. In fact, they also reduce costs linked to program delivery and instructional material. So it is easy to see why Tiktok is taking this giant strategic step. Even the US Department of Education recognizes the need to blending online learning with school-based instruction “so as to accommodate students’ diverse learning styles.” It acknowledges that the use of technology has made fundamental structural changes that helps students attain significant improvements. The department further says that the tools available reinforce experiences, expand course offerings, and keep students’ perceptions wide and diversified while at the same time boosting motivation and engagement. In short, the flexibility of teaching methods using digital platforms enhances learning.

When the coronavirus spread and people changed the way they interacted, they found themselves engaged as communities through the prism of technology. Digital apps like Zoom and Tiktok took center stage. Today their use is expanding and promising. Now even Tiktok, despite being a short-form mobile video platform, will be adapted strategically to get structured learning outcomes. Of course, this perfectly fits into its mission where it aims not only to inspire creativity but also bring joy.  Next time when people create a Tiktok account online, it won’t only be strictly for fun but a learning experience as well.

Vitamins that help with memory

Importance of Memory cannot be overemphasized. This is because it plays a crucial role in our life. If you can’t remember the skills that you learned, or retrieve information that is stored in your brain, or recall moments and experiences in the past, you have a very serious reason to be concerned. However, you must be careful that you are not on the receiving end of wrong advice.

While we must appreciate that It’s not always Alzheimer’s that causes memory loss, it will be equally important to be wary of some wild claims that might be all over the net. No doubt, deficiency of some nutrients in our diet might lead to memory loss. And so searching for vitamins that help with memory loss is in order. Mayo Clinic lists two vitamins that must be in our system to avoid a breakdown in our memory capabilities and these are vitamin B-12 and vitamin E.

Vitamin B-12

Scientists have long been researching the relationship between low levels of B-12 (cobalamin) and memory loss. According to a Mayo Clinic expert, having enough B-12 in your diet can improve memory. Promising research does show that B-12 can slow cognitive decline in people with early Alzheimer’s when taken together with omega-3 fatty acids. B-12 deficiency is most common in people with bowel or stomach issues, or strict vegetarians. The diabetes drug metformin has also been shown to lower B-12 levels. You should be able to get enough B-12 naturally, as it’s found in foods such as fish and poultry. Fortified breakfast cereal is a good option for vegetarians.

Vitamin E

There is some evidence to suggest that vitamin E can benefit the mind and memory in older people. A 2014 study by the Journal of the American Medical Association found that high amounts of vitamin E can help people with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s disease. Participants took doses of 2,000 international units (IU) a day. However, this amount is unsafe, according to Dr. Gad Marshall of Harvard Medical School. Taking more than 1,000 IU a day is especially risky for people with cardiovascular disease, especially for those on blood thinners. It also increases the risk of prostate cancer. Regardless of your age or condition, you should be able to get enough
vitamin E from your food. Ask your doctor if you’re interested in additional amounts. Vitamin E deficiency is rare, although it may occur in people on low-fat diets. The vitamin is found in nuts, seeds, dark-colored fruits, such as blueberries, avocados, and blackberries vegetables, such as spinach and bell peppers.

Other causes

It will be important, however, to emphasize that there are far too many causes of memory loss. The following are the other causes of memory loss.

  1. A number of prescription and over-the-counter medications can interfere with or cause loss of memory. Possible culprits include: antidepressants, antihistamines, anti-anxiety medications, muscle relaxants, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, and pain medications given after surgery.
  2. Alcohol, tobacco, or drug use. Excessive alcohol use has long been recognized as a cause of memory loss.
  3. Smoking harms memory by reducing the amount of oxygen that gets to the brain. Studies have shown that people who smoke find it more difficult to put faces with names than do non-
  4. Sleep deprivation. Getting too little sleep or waking frequently in the night can lead to fatigue, which interferes with the ability to consolidate and retrieve information.
  5. Depression and stress. When you are tense and your mind is overstimulated or distracted, your ability to remember can suffer.
  6. Stress caused by an emotional trauma can also lead to memory loss.
  7. Head injury. A severe hit to the head could injure the brain and cause both short- and long-term memory loss.
  8. A person who has had a stroke may have vivid memories of childhood events but be unable to recall what he or she had for lunch.

Memory Loss Concern

You may need to see the doctor if you notice the following:

  1. Disruptions in your daily life e.g. finding yourself asking the same questions over and over
  2. Forgetting common words when speaking
  3. Mixing words up — saying “hand clock” instead of “watch,” for example
  4. Taking longer to complete familiar tasks, such as following a recipe
  5. Misplacing things and losing the ability to retrace steps
  6. Withdrawal from work or social activities, failure to follow a conversation.
  7. Getting lost while walking or driving in a familiar area
  8. Losing track of the date or the season

According to Mayo clinic, getting a proper and prompt diagnosis is important, even if it’s challenging. This is because identifying a reversible cause of memory impairment enables you to get appropriate treatment. Also, an early diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment,
Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder is beneficial because you can:

  1. Begin treatments to manage symptoms
  2. Educate yourself and loved ones about the disease
  3. Determine future care preferences
  4. Identify care facilities or at-home care options
  5. Settle financial or legal matters

Finally, we need to conclude with this question do memory supplements work? Numerous studies have been undertaken to ascertain the efficacy or safety of supplements in as far as memory boosting is concerned. One notable article is from consumer reports (www.consumerreports) which referred to a 2015 review of studies that found that
supplementation with B6, B12, and/or folic acid failed to slow or reduce the risk of cognitive decline in healthy older adults and did not improve brain function in those with cognitive decline or dementia. They also recommend avoiding branded “memory boosting” blends.

However, it should be stated that certain nutrients that will be helpful with proper functioning of the body may consequently help with a good memory. For this reason, we should ensure that we don’t have any deficiency of any vitamin in our bodies. Additionally, we should ensure
lifestyles and habits that will be good for our overall wellbeing!

Online Shopping Surges During Pandemic

Since the coronavirus pandemic began this year, there have been 13 straight weeks where more than 1 million people have filed for unemployment for the first time in the US, according to the recent article from the Washington Post. Analysts said the weekly numbers point to steep challenges the country faces in its recovery. For most people looking for a way out, one of the tips on how to survive the coronavirus pandemic has to be identification of opportunities available despite the current headwinds.  Unsurprisingly, the online retail market has offered a silver lining in this dark cloud.

The pandemic has driven a significant acceleration in online grocery sales. In the US, in sharp contrast to the overall U.S. retail market results ending Q1, down 2.9% for the 13 weeks ending May 2, there was solid performance by Walmart driven by grocery, essential goods and strong digital commerce. According to a Forbes report, Walmart’s net sales increased by 10.5%, with e-commerce sales up 74% as stated in the investor call on 18th May, 2020.

“Despite a tumultuous Q1 for many companies, the coronavirus created a huge opportunity for Walmart to capture market share,” said Kunal Chopra, CEO of etailz.

Across the Atlantic, in the UK, the BBC also reported, this month, that London-based courier business Gophr had just seen its busiest ever two months as more people got a taste for online shopping. Global retail sales generated through E-commerce saw a drastic surge as consumers turned to online and mobile shopping to buy groceries, daily necessities, and other products.

In the meantime, British online supermarket Ocado plans to raise over 1 billion ($1.3 billion) in capital, enhancing its online delivery services as people in the UK continue to shop more from the comfort of their homes. In a yet another June article, the Business Insider reported that the chain stated that the coronavirus pandemic had driven a significant acceleration in online grocery sales which had made way for a “permanent redrawing” of the global grocery industry.

47% of existing online shoppers in Europe have increased their online grocery purchases since COVID-19 and are expected to continue, Ocado was reportedly to have said, citing data compiled over four weeks to May 16 by analytics firm Nielsen.

The group said UK online market penetration had reached 9% in May 2020, compared to just 7% last year before the coronavirus struck. The grocery chain already has a bunch of licensing deals with nine partners including US supermarket giant Kroger, Japan retailer Aeon, Australia’s second-largest grocery Coles, Groupe Casino in France, and Sobeys in Canada. In May, the chain said its retail sales were up 40.4% in its second quarter compared to the previous year.

While there was significantly positive news in the online retail front, some segments, including travel and airlines, experienced a severe downturn due to COVID-19 in both online and offline channels. Online travel agencies such as Booking Holdings, Expedia Group, and Airbnb saw weekly accommodation bookings plummet by over -90% during April 2020.

Digital and contactless payment methods rise amid the COVID-19 outbreak

The coronavirus outbreak is not only transforming the way consumers shop but also how they pay for their purchases. Contactless payments received an unprecedented boost during the pandemic, seen by consumers as a cleaner way to pay in-store. Consumers are also trying out new payment methods while purchasing from E-commerce websites, and favour those methods that have the strongest protection against fraud losses.

Reduced Momentum

The momentum for online retail sales may not be sustained at the current levels as a new study, just released by Chain Store Age, contains some good news for brick-and-mortar retailers.

According to a survey of more than 18,000 consumers from shopping rewards app Shopkick, about three-quarters (73%) of respondents say they feel equally or less concerned about COVID-19 than in May. And in a May Shopkick survey, 82% of respondents said the pandemic was affecting how they shop and now that statistic has dropped to 70%.

Looking ahead, the survey found that although 48% of respondents say they are shopping online more frequently than one month prior, 65% still plan to make most of their summer purchases in-store. Consumers say they plan to spend most of their summer shopping budget on groceries (41%), home improvement projects (27%), vacations (10%), recreation and outdoor activities (7%), clothing and apparel (6%), back-to-school preparations (4%), and summer camps (1%).

Earn money affiliate marketing

There is a sense of insecurity that a pandemic like the novel coronavirus wields. It leaves behind an economy in tatters. So how to survive the bad economy is a crucially important topic. It is very apparent that jobs post covid will be a challenge and therefore alternative means of livelihood need to be sought.

Affiliate marketing is one such an option. This is a low risk digital marketing model where you advertise products on behalf of a partner online and get commissions for all the clicks passing through your site. You only need to pick a profitable niche for your online business. A niche is simply a specialized market for a specific target group.

There is a low capital investment outlay as the model eliminates inventory and other distribution activities such as shipping and handling. Your major focus becomes only driving traffic to the websites where you provide links to your prospects. There is therefore need to understand how to deal with building sites, content building, search engines optimization and all that will enable you to be identifiable on the net.

Most people will recoil at the idea of building their own sites. This is not a very big hurdle as there are programs that will take you through the process without breaking a sweat. They will in fact give you the necessary training to help you start not only affiliate marketing but an entire online business!

This e-commerce model requires a lot of hard work and a good budget for marketing and advertising. You may choose social media, email marketing, blogging and whatever method that will work for you. As you get to understand the customers purchase life cycle and all that goes into it, you soon begin to build a successful enterprise. As long as you find yourself focusing on helping people, there will be enough visits on your site to make you profitable. In fact, the internet is a world of about 4 billion people!

It might take you time to monetize your sites or pages. However, in the due course every effort expended could prove worthwhile and result in a lifetime success. As the cliché goes “Rome was never built in a day.” Of course, it started a stone at a time and that is what you do.

Why should you give it a thought?

1. There is flexibility of choice. This should motivate you and give you the needed drive as you specialize in what interests you. There is a sense of fulfillment as you select from the millions of different products and services available online, and you only promote what appeals to you.

2. There are a lot of willing customers and when you connect to the appropriate target group, you don’t need much “selling” and persuasion. The internet has made it easier for anyone to find potential customers who are already searching for the products or services that they are offering. It is easy to use tools like google analytics and see the keyword searches that might be attractive.

3. With Affiliate marketing, you might only need the cost of your internet to get going. It is like buying a shop on the busy street for a song! This is the cheapest business to embark on that even a kid coming out of high school can do and become highly successful, seriously!

We have at least two types of affiliate programs available,  These are Affiliate networks and independent affiliate programs. Affiliate “networks” are centralized collections, in most cases in thousands, of affiliate programs that you can join through one network. This makes it convenient to promote many different programs at the same time (even in different niches) and receive one payment.

Some of the more common examples of these networks are:

(1) Commission Junction

(2) Awin

(3) LinkShare

(4) ShareASale

(5) Clickbank.com

On the other hand, we have independent affiliate programs. The largest affiliate program in the world by far, and an example of an independent affiliate program is Amazon.com. Amazon boasts of over 500,000,000 products on their program and they are growing daily as more sellers join. Their commissions are not very high, they range from 1-10% but with incessant and huge volumes of purchases from them annually, the earnings can only be substantial.

Wealth Affiliate is another example of an independent affiliate program. It offers very good commissions, lucratively pegged at 50%. For the record, Wealth Affiliate happens to be one of the best work from home training programs.

They are many other affiliate programs, you just have to google or bing and the search results will be so overwhelming.

How does Affiliate Marketing differ from Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)?

Although MLM, or network marketing, is a business model that has some similarities to affiliate marketing, the two are not exactly the same. For MLM you often have to get people to sign up to a program you are promoting. As you recruit more people called down-liners, you are compensated for it. Additionally, when these down liners sell, you earn commissions. You earn multiple levels of commissions through your recruitment. MLM in short will encourage you to build a team as you promote a service or product. On the contrary, with affiliate marketing there is no need of a team, one individual is enough to do all the promotions.

Secondly, most of the Affiliate programs are free whereas MLM programs have member starter fees which in some cases is the minimum initial products that you have to buy.

The other difference is that in affiliate marketing you have complete control of what to sell. Affiliate marketing gives you more control and authority over your business. In contrast, in MLM, you can only sell the products of the MLM program you’re involved with. To take matters further, your concern is not only the product of the MLM but also its business model. Most of the people involved might not even understand the inherent aspects of the compensation plan which is part of the sales pitch. This might cause them to misinform and misdirect others to join. In some cases, there have been downright exaggerated claims which brings the question of ethics. This is what makes MLM to be abhorred by some people.

Unfortunately, get rich quick, ponzi or pyramid schemes find the network marketing a very good model to adopt. So, for anyone involved in MLM, there will be questions of legitimacy and legality. However, there are many MLM programs that are legit but one must only understand and ask the right questions. Other than knowing whether it is legit, it will be important to understand the market niche that you will be dealing with.

In summary, the following would be the noticeable differences:

  1. Membership starter fees and (even stocking) with MLM
  2. Recruitment of people with MLM.
  3. Flexibility with affiliate marketing, your own niche, brand and business model
  4. Online time with affiliate marketing which might not always be the case with MLM
  5. Definite residue income and in most cases bonuses and scholarships with MLM,  With Affiliate marketing the built brand may eventually result in a residue income.

In the end, both marketing models require hard work and a sense of direction and can both be rewardable. But I prefer affiliate marketing!

About me

Welcome to moneymultiples.com , a site that gives you insight on opportunities for your financial freedom

My Story

For a long time I was stuck with an 8 to 5 job and that was all I cared about concerning my income. The challenge I had was that it didn’t matter how often the salary was adjusted  upwards. it never seemed enough. I was in it for security but often times I was faced with a possibility of losing the job. I heard the word downsizing more times than I would care to hear it. So the stress levels were high perennially, yet I never acted on what was best for me and my family, as I thought opportunities were limited. Obviously I was held captive by a mindset of one stream of income and that was from employment.

Unfortunately, a time that I dreaded finally arrived. My contract was not renewed and so it meant walking away from my comfort zone. This was indeed uncharted territory. I needed to figure out what to do and I needed to do that quickly. So I found myself looking for alternative sources of income! This made me realize that I could have done better if only I explored the possibilities of multiple sources of income!

Why I want to help People

Now that my eyes were opened albeit late, I would like to help people see the endless possibilities out there. This is pertinent especially now where we have a lot of people going out of employment in this post covid era. It will be important that people quickly learn other ways of making money.

To survive the post covid challenges, we need to focus on perhaps non-traditional means of doing business and generating income in multiple ways. Time moves fast and it will be important to keep a tab on the trends that will make you tick. Obviously it won’t be business as usual!

I care deeply about people and to help them out of a cycle of poverty or out of the rat race is now something like a calling. My very reason of existence, in as afar as I’m concerned is to connect and to help people discover their potential and purpose.

The goal of this site

This site will give you insights that will hopefully improve your station of life. It is here to introduce to you keys that will open doors to your financial freedom. It will equip you with principles as well as areas of opportunity that will ensure not only financial stability but also financial freedom to help you focus on your main purpose of life.

We shall move together to achieve great things as we explore money multiple sources!!
